About Me
Goodness! Life can be difficult. Hopelessness, confusion, fear, and feeling stuck are all part of life, but you do not need to navigate them alone. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place for you to gain understanding, manage difficult emotions, and regain control over your mental health.
I discovered early in my career that I love working with kids and teenagers. My first therapist job was working with 4-17 years olds who had difficult starts to life most often due to an experienced traumatic event. This is where I learned how to implement Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. We worked on coping strategies, stress responses, and negative thought cycles to help them begin to heal. During this time, I also learned the importance of working with parents and caregivers to teach them ways they can support and gain understanding of their children’s needs. Proving a united support system definitely impacted their success.
As I have grown in my therapist career, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of clients. I am always honored to be allowed to share in the intimate parts of people’s lives. I may get to hear about you making a new friend, or a new restaurant you tried or maybe we talk about the death of a loved one or the panic attack you had early that day. I have laughed with clients, cried with clients, and celebrated with clients. Having these opportunities to connect with and help others has made my career rewarding and inspiring.
In our sessions, we will work together to develop effective coping skills, improve your ability to communicate feelings and needs, build better relationships, and strengthen your self love. You can also expect to gain tools and skills to cope with whatever comes your way. I will provide a supportive and non judgmental space for you to process life’s challenges. We may have to talk about difficult things and some sessions may be hard, but that is where true change begins.

“People have said, ‘Don’t cry’ to other people for years and years, and all it has ever meant is, ‘I’m too uncomfortable when you show your feelings. Don’t cry.’ I’d rather have them say, ‘Go ahead and cry. I’m here to be with you.’” ~Mr. Fred Rogers
