Highbanks Metro Park

Getting out in nature is excellent for our mental health! Did you know there are more than 20 Franklin County Metro Parks around the Columbus, Ohio area? Highbanks, located in Lewis Center, Ohio, is one of them. There are nine trails at Highbanks, varying in length and difficulty, so there’s something for everyone. Take a walk or jog along the scenic trails through the woods and along the Olentangy River to help relieve stress.

Columbus Museum of Art

A great way to escape daily life stresses is to celebrate the creative process by visiting the Columbus Museum of Art, located on East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio. The museum’s mission is to “create great experiences with great art for everyone.” They do that with the many art and exhibitions they showcase and by making art family friendly and accessible. The museum is free to everyone on Sundays and always free to veterans and active duty military and their families.

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens offers a relaxing way to let nature and art relieve your stress. You can explore the Conservatory and the exhibitions they offer like art galleries and butterfly gardens. You can also find stress relief in the many gardening, cooking and art classes offered. There is also The Scott’s Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden, a 2-acre garden located on the Conservatory grounds, which offers a place for parents and children to connect with nature and each other.

Columbus Metropolitan Libraries – Main Library in downtown Columbus

If stress relief for you is reading a great book in a quiet place, check out the Columbus Metropolitan Libraries, specifically the Main Library in downtown Columbus on Grant Avenue. It’s a beautiful building with many rooms and spaces to relax in, including a cafe. You can also visit the Main Library’s outdoor space, Kaufman Plaza, for some fresh air.
