Therapy for trauma, teens, grief and loss, couples, and more in Worthington, Ohio.

About Me

Welcome. My name is Emily and my pronouns are she/her. I am a licensed clinician with a history of 15 years in psychotherapy and mental health treatment. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches in my practice depending on each individual client. I practice through a trauma-informed lens, with consideration of your emotional safety above all else.

In good therapy, you will experience discomfort with growth but will remain safe in treatment. I also focus on the humanistic approach, encouraging self-actualization and personal growth. You are the expert of you. I’m here to learn from you and reflect back to you the power and strength you may have lost sight of through your life experiences.

I have been told by previous clients that they appreciate my open, honest, and patient communication style. I will be honest and remind you of the importance of setting and maintaining your personal boundaries because you are here to heal and grow. I respect your time and commitment to therapy and take it seriously. However, I am a big believer in being human and using humor, and appreciate good laughs in therapy. Life is serious enough.

A little bit about me outside of the office…I am a huge fan of NYT Games, completing my daily routine of word games each morning. I love watching basketball, including my 12 year old’s team! I love to read, bake, and learn random facts about anything and everything. I am also getting super into birds the closer I get to 40. 🙂

My Experience

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a supervisory designation and received my graduate degree from The Ohio State University.  Through my years of practice, I have been fortunate enough to be a part of many people’s journeys at different ages and stages of their lives.

I treat those with PTSD, CPTSD, Adjustment disorders, marriage/couple and family issues, Grief and loss, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, OCD, and more. If you are curious about these concerns without yet a diagnosis, I can help put those pieces together through the diagnostic assessment process.

I pride myself on being realistic, open, and accepting in treatment with hopes of bringing comfort and validation to the human experience.

During our first session together, I will learn from you a snapshot version of your presenting concerns and history and begin the processes of rapport building and establishing a secure therapeutic relationship. I encourage transparency and feedback, and I know that not every therapist will be a fit for you. At any time you are able to request a different provider if your needs are not being met.

I truly look forward to getting to know you and learning from you ways to help support you through your journey. You are welcome to reach out to schedule if you feel I may be a fit for you, or if you have any questions at all.
